X9 Leather Degreaser

X9 Leather Degreaser is a powerful degreasing agent, developed specifically for tackling greasy areas on thin leather.It is incredibly effective at removing grease stains from thin leather leather, with a special blend of solvents that work to break the grease down for easy removal.

Instructions on how to Degrease thin leather

Step 1

Thoroughly clean the surface twice with Leather Cleaner and Terry Towel, allow to dry between cleaning. A hairdryer speeds up the drying time

Step 2

Using the 300 sandpaper, gently sand down the leather; paying more attention to any cracked, rough or peeling areas. Sand these areas with more pressure to make the leather smooth.

Step 3

Gently clean the surface with Leather Prep and a Lint Free Cloth

Step 4

Dampen a cloth with the X9 Liquid Degreaser and wipe down the whole surface of the leather. If you have any areas of grease build up, the X9 Liquid Degreaser should be used to remove the grease and decontaminate the areas. Heavily contaminated areas will appear darker than the colour of the leather. Apply more X9 Leather Degreaser to a cloth and rub in a circular motion to the greasy areas. Applying heavy pressure with the cloth will assist in the removal of the grease. Continue to work the X9 Leather Degreaser into the rest of the affected area, rotating the cloth as it becomes dirty with the grease. Leave to dry (drying times of the degreaser can be reduced to around 10 seconds with the use of a hairdryer). Inspect the area and repeat the process if necessary. You should repeat the process until the dark, grease-stained area appears lighter when dry. This will indicate that the X9 Leather Degreaser has removed the grease.

Step 5

Dampen a dry cloth with the X8 Alcohol Cleaner and wipe down the whole surface of the leather. This will remove any residue of the previous products and further prepare the leather. Leave the leather to dry before proceeding to the next step
