D2 BROMSKIT BAK BMW F20 (OE161) (11~UP). 356mm
A new generation of brake kit from D2 is here now! Hollowok also at the back. New with us in winter 2023/2024!
Many do not prioritize the rear brakes, but reason that the greatest brake distribution is anyway at the front of the car, so the rear is not so important. It is true that you have the most braking power at the front, in a well-functioning braking system you have approx. 70% brake distribution at the front and 30% at the rear.
If you only mount a brake kit at the front, this balance is changed and the car has significantly more braking power at the front than at the rear. This still works quite well during normal driving. However, if the car is used for racing, there is a risk that the car will be too light at the rear during heavy braking. This then results in the rear brakes locking and the car can spin. If you have the right brake distribution, you have full control of the car even when braking very hard. If you only change your front brakes and use the car for serious racing, your front kit will wear out the brake pads much faster and there is a greater risk that you will overload the front kit, which will wear it out prematurely or, in the worst case, break it.
A rear kit from D2 is calculated to give an optimal brake distribution together with a D2 front brake kit. The rear kit has a smaller brake pad than the front and a smaller piston area than the corresponding front kit. The size of the rear brakes is determined by the car's weight distribution. If the car's weight is evenly distributed, it is best to choose an equally large rear brake kit as the front. For example, if you have a 356mm front brake kit, a 356mm rear brake kit gives the best balance and efficiency. This gives a brake distribution of 7:3. If the car's balance is towards the front, our experience is that a size smaller in the rear is preferable.
News winter 2023/2024, D2 Hollow calipers also at the rear.
Finally premiere with us for D2's new Hollow brake caliper at rear brakes, like a spider's web it closes over the brake pads and brake disc. Super cool and advanced!
Included in the kit:
The brake kit contains 2 drilled or slotted ventilated discs. 2 center hubs in aluminum with fixed or floating locking. 2 aluminum brake calipers forged from one piece. Choose free of charge between purple, black, red or yellow calipers. Other colors and finishes are available, select this under the separate menu "Val D2kit". 1 set of sports pads, good all-round brake pads. Adapters for the brake caliper for bolt-on mounting. Complete with bolts, clips & shim plates. Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines/Hoses. Manual and installation instructions in English.
Handbrake?
In the specification on the right under "Add to cart" you can see if the brake kit will work together with the original handbrake. If the brake kit has functionality with the handbrake, they are slightly more expensive, however, this is a requirement if they are to run as street cars. The minimum size 286mm never works together with the car's original handbrake.
Some unusual sizes of the brake kit for some car models are more expensive, therefore a smaller size can sometimes be more expensive than a larger size.
To choose the color, design of the brake disc or buy a floating disc, you do this under the "Val D2kit" menu.
